Michael John Torpey is available for Church Ceremonies, Wedding Receptions, Funerals, Special Event Ceremonies, Corporate Event Ceremonies, and Private Parties requiring Classical Operatic Tenors, or Contemporary Tenor Vocalist Singers. His repertoire can include a few of your selections or a complete 45 minute entertainment venue as well as our National Anthem for your opening ceremony. DJ & Karaoke entertainment also available

Mr. Torpey has been singing professionally throughout the country for over twelve years.
Mr. Torpey has performed many principle tenor roles with the Purchase Symphony
Orchestra including Tamino in Die Zauberflote, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, and Don
Ottavio in Don Giovanni. He has performed with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the
New York Grand Opera under the batons of Maestro Kurt Masur and Vincent La Selva
at major venues such as Carnegie Hall and Central Park. He has been a guest solo
artist at Madison Square Garden, the Bellagio and Paris Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada,
as well as on the Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Princess Cruise Lines. Mr. Torpey has
also appeared Live as a Solo Vocalist on the Joe Franklin’s Memory Lane Radio
program broadcast from New York City.
Mr. Torpey’s extensive chamber, recital, and concert work has allowed him the
privilege of sharing the stage with extraordinary talents such as Dawn Upshaw,
Thomas Hampson, Jacque Trussel, Bradley Brookshire, Anthony Newman and Mary-Jane
Newman. He performed in the world premiere of Anthony Newman’s National Hymn
and Lee Hoiby’s For You O Democracy.
A versatile singer and actor, Mr. Torpey has acquired many musical theater and
dramatic credits including Laser Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, Val in Babes in Arms, The
Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, The Tin Man in The Wiz, Harold Hill in The Music
Man, Charlie Dalrymple in Brigadoon, Jonathan in Arsenic and Old Lace, Grandpa
Martin Vanderhof in You Can’t take it with You, Audry II in Little Shop of Horrors, and
Fagin in Oliver. Most recently he appeared as Eisenstein in Opera Company of the
Highlands’ production of DIE FLEDERMAUS, The Mohonk Mountain Resort, and
Broadway Concerts Direct production of Simple Gifts with Sarah Rice (The Original
Joanna) in the Broadway production of Sweeney Todd.
